How To Add Your Picture to the Learning Web

This short how-to provides instructions on adding a portrait to the Learning Web.

Prepare Your Photo

Before you are ready to upload your picture, you need to make sure it is in the right format so that there are no suprises when you view it on your page. Your image should be formatted as a JPEG file and be cropped to 75x100 pixels. Photoshop Elements or comparable graphics editors can be used for this task. Ask someone in the CIC for help if you aren't sure what any of these specifications mean.

Upload Your Photo

To add/change your portrait used on the Learning Web, do the following:

  1. Log in to the site using your member name and password.
  2. Select the "My Preferences" link located on the upper right-hand menu.
  3. Choose "Personal Preferences" from the next page.
  4. Under "Portrait" there is a browse button. Click on it and find your image on your computer. Save.

Follow-up

When you view your home page the next time, your photo should now be visible in the left-hand column. If it isn't let the Learning Web Admin know.
