Short Bio
Prior to teaching full time at HCC, Sharon Hendry was a production artist for the University of Texas Medical School and a computer graphic artist for Genigraphics and TerryProductions. She continues to develop advertising freelance projects.
Ms. Hendry creates multi-media artwork layered with type, colors, found objects, drawings, fabrics and photos. She uses the computer as a tool for visual expression and communication. In her classes, students are taught digital media as a production method without relying exclusively on software and hardware for concepts and ideas.
She states her teaching philosophy as "Teaching is demonstrating what's possible, learning is making it possible for yourself."
