Biographical Notes

Roy Ruane joined the HCC / Southwest English Department as a full-time faculty member in 1992 after earning his Bachelor of Arts and Master's degrees at the University of Houston. He teaches composition and a variety of literary subjects. One course, Film and Literature, allows him to share his interest in the ways that multimedia texts achieve their effects. Roy's activities at the college include individual tutoring and managing the department's writing lab. When not teaching or reading, he likes to ride his bicycle in the rolling hills northwest of the city. Roy makes his home in the Heights with wife Geri and two spoiled cats.
