Ms. Porcynaluk has a BFA from SUNY at Buffalo with a Painting Major and an MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology with a Painting Major and Printmaking Minor.
For the past several years Ms. Porcynaluk has been the Department Chair for the Digital Communication Department which houses the college programs for Graphic Design, Digital Photography, Multimedia and Web Publishing.
In the fall of 2007, Ms. Porcynaluk was awarded a sabbatical in which she explored the non-toxic processes of solar plate etching and monoprinting. She has brought those processes to her printmaking classes at HCC and her students have experienced excellent results using professional water base inks, grained glass and digital manipulation of their photos and drawings.
In the fall of 2009, she returns to the Fine Arts Department to concentrate on teaching and the administrative tasks of Associate Chair of Fine Arts.
