Welcome
Houston Community College is a great place to be. Exciting changes are taking place everyday in our students' lives. I look forward to helping my students develop their English skills so they may excel in their college studies and achieve their goals for the future.
A Little About Me
A native of Texas, I attended San Jacinto College in Pasadena and earned a BA and MA in English from the University of Mississippi. I also worked towards a PhD in English while a graduate teaching assistant at Ole Miss. In addition, I have studied at Mississippi State University and the University of Southern Maine. My experience includes teaching English on the university, community college and public school levels for the last twenty years. The courses I teach at Houston Community College include AESL and Developmental English. An avid reader, some of my favorite authors include Tennesse Williams, William Faulkner, Harper Lee, Flannery O'Connor, Edgar Allan Poe, Gunter Grass, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

I was once a hardworking, eager college student too!
