Project 1 PSA Public Service Announcement

 

Concept Statement, Shot Sheet & Story Boards due February 19th 2008

 

Raw Footage due February 19th 2008

 

Project 1 Final Edit is due in class March 4th 2008 on a mini dv tape.

 

The technical requirements for the video piece area as follows:

Each student will edit their own video using FCP 5. You must make each finished piece follow the concept that you have proposed and story boarded.

 

The piece should be 60 seconds. Keep the times exactly as I ask for as I will take points off on a lack of exactness on this issue.

 

This piece must be shot on digital video and edited on Final Cut Pro 5.

 

You must use at least three audio tracks sound track /garageband music bed, narration, sound fx.

 

You must make at least 10 edits in this project.

 

 You must use at least 1 still frame in this project.

 

You must have an opening title.

 

 

You must use fast or slow motion in a meaningful way.

 

You must shoot  footage for this project.

You must turn this project in on a mini dv tape cued to the start of your project! The tape must be clearly labeled as to your name and the project that it contains. Do not turn in a tape with source footage or multiple edits of the same project. It must be easy to identify the video you want graded when I view the tape (put a slate at the begining of your project to accomplish this goal!)

Timely Presentation of raw footage.
Placement and timing of edits
Shot variety and selection
Quality of Illustration of the Concept
Organic Unity (how all the elements mesh in order to support the concept)
Audio Quality
Follows Project Directions
