Design Assignment
The objectives of this assignment are to get your creative energy going for class and to evaluate your skill in design for the Internet.
Due date is 2/6/2008
You are to create two sets of design comps for a web site for a petrochemical/engineering/technology company. The company is fictitious (not real), and is call Jasco International.
Deliverables
You are to create:
A brand/logo identity for the company
4 Design comps (a home page look, and a sub page look in two different styles).
This means you will be turning in 5 total files for this assignment - a file with just the logo and then the 4 design comps.
Requirements
Each design comp is to be ONLY GRAPHIC in format (do not code html or flash). You are to turn in the final designs in TIF format.
You may design in PhotoShop, Illustrator, or Fireworks.
The size of each comp is to be 760 pixels wide and 420 pixels in height. The resolution should look good for both print and screen!
You should use images that relate to the type of company that you are designing for. http://creative.gettyimages.com/source/home/home.aspx is a good place to get sample images for comps ( makes sure you registar with them so that you can get to images that do not have the watermark on them.)
You may "greek" the content text for each page. You may acquire "greeked" text at http://www.lipsum.com
You must brand with consistency on all comps.
You must create a navigation scheme that uses these subjects: About Us, Contact, Partners, Investors, Resources, Careers, Locations.
You are to create a folder and put each comp inside the folder. Name the folder a1_yourfirstname_yourlastname. Have the folder and the required files inside available in class on the due date at the beginning of class.
