Biography

Betty Gilfillan comes from Belfast, N. Ireland, where she obtained degree in English with special reference to Speech and Drama. She also holds a Royal Society of Arts TEFL Diploma from the U.K. She has taught ESOL in Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Before coming to Houston, she was the ESL advisor at North Lake College, which is part of the Dallas Community College District. She has served as president of TexTesol IV and has presented at state and national conferences. .
