Acid Fast Vs Non Acid Fast
Here is an image of acid fast Mycobacterium smegmatis (the short red rods) amidst non acid fast Escherichia coli (the longer, thicker blue rods). This stain was performed by a group of Bio. 2420 students on Feb. 9, 2006. Magnification is 1000X.
