Education and Experience
Ph.D., English and American Literature, Texas A&M University.
M.A., English and American Literature, University of Houston.
B.A., English and American Literature, University of Houston.
In
my teaching career, I have taught various courses in British, American,
and World Literature; genre courses in Satire and the Short Story;
Technical Writing; and Freshman Composition. Additionally,
I have served on numerous college and English department committees,
written articles that have appeared in professional journals and made
presentations at professional conferences, written a CD-ROM on Pope’s The Rape of the Lock,
and developed two Distance Education courses. My area of specialization
in English literature is the eighteenth century (writers such as John
Dryden, Alexander Pope, and Dr. Samuel Johnson).
A native Houstonian, I am quite a voracious reader; I also enjoy travel, gourmet food, sewing, film, and every aspect of the arts. I have an adorable little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (a Ruby) named Victoria.
