A College Professor's Pet Peeves
I have the opportunity to read many exciting essays. I learn all kinds of things from my students from the origins of hip-hop to the
marriage rituals in Nairobi. But even the most interesting topics can be overrun with my pet peeves
such as the improper use of pronouns, the yawn factor, and the essay that isn't proofread.
I even read a freshman English essay that had a paragraph which lasted 2 pages. The essay itself was only 2 1/2 pages long! Learn how to write effective paragraphs and your audience will thank you.
What's the hardest part of writing an essay?
